TREMONT, The Bronx (PIX11) -- A man has been arrested in connection with torturing and killing his 21-year-old girlfriend in the Bronx on Saturday, according to authorities.

Robert Strother, 27, faces charges of murder, manslaughter, hindering prosecution, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence, police report.

Strother is accused of stabbing and killing 21-year-old Princesa Encarnacion-Soto in their Bronx apartment on July 22, law enforcement officials say.

Her body was found in the third-floor stairwell at 2295 Grand Concourse with multiple stab wounds, head trauma, a piece of her knuckle missing and slits underneath her feet, according to court documents.

“The wounds themselves were inflicted for pain, not to kill,” said NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Ken
