(CNN) — One of the five workers trapped in a Chilean copper mine has been found dead, the mining company said Saturday, bringing the death toll from Thursday’s collapse to two.
Rescue workers have been racing to save the men trapped in El Teniente, one of the world’s largest copper mines, after a shaft collapsed, according to Codelco, the state-run firm that operates the mine.
Andrés Music, general manager of the mine, said at a press conference Saturday that a prosecutor and public minister would identify the worker’s remains.
