MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Following suit with Montgomery County Public Schools teachers, the support staff have now filed a class action grievance against the school district over continuing payroll issues . Employees say the pay problems have caused major issues for those who need every dollar to support their families.

"It is very frustrating, but the bureaucracy is such that you just find yourself helpless, at their mercy as to when you will get paid,” said Kaushal Chauhan, who has worked for Montgomery County Public Schools for 11 years — first as a para-educator, and most recently as a wellness trainer, who helps students manage their behavior and emotions.

He is one of the hundreds of MCPS employees who have been dealing with payroll issues all year.
