CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Canton Police confirm fights broke out in downtown Canton Friday night just about a block away from Centennial Park and the Pro Football Hall of Fame festivities.

However, one local business owner is praising police for reacting quickly and keeping everyone safe.

It’s estimated that around 700,000 people attend events in Canton during Hall of Fame Enshrinement week, and while all of the events have been peaceful, police did have to handle a few disturbances nearby.

Jerzee’s Cafe owner, Chris Maggiore, tells 19 News that there were no problems at his business.

He hosted a concert with well-known country artist Chris Higby Friday night. However, just a short distance away in the area of Cleveland Avenue and 4th Street Northwest, some fights broke out.
