ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis County man has been charged after a child was shot with an unattended gun on Thursday.
Jarez Wilson has been charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, creating a substantial risk.
According to court documents, the charges come in connection with a shooting on July 31. Documents allege that Wilson left a loaded AK-47 inside a bag on a couch.
The document states that a child in the home began to play with the gun, with the weapon accidentally firing at this time.
The child’s brother was shot in the abdomen and was taken to Children’s Hospital for treatment. His condition is not known, as
Wilson is currently held on a $150,000, cash-only, no 10% bond.
