A 29-year-old woman is dead after her motorcycle collided with a car in Little Compton, Rhode Island, Sunday afternoon.

Police Chief Scott Raynes tells NBC10 Boston affiliate WJAR that police responded to Simmons Road for a head-on collision and arrived to find a motorcyclist with critical injuries.

A preliminary investigation shows Tammy Boutilier, of Tiverton, lost control of her motorcycle for reasons that are unknown at this time and struck the car that was traveling eastbound on Simmons Road, according to WJAR.

Boutilier was taken to St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River where she was pronounced dead, WJAR reports.
