ANNANDALE, Va. — A two-alarm apartment fire remains under investigation in Fairfax County Monday morning.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews were called to the 7900 block of Charles Thomson Lane in Annandale for a report of a fire at an apartment complex there. When crews got to the scene, they found smoke and flames on the third floor of the garden-style apartment building. A second alarm was called to get more units to the scene.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. Everyone who lived in the apartment were able to get out safely and no injuries were reported. According to firefighters, a dog was found deceased.

Nine adults and four children were displaced in the fire and are receiving help from the Red Cross.
