Police are cracking down on catapults after multiple reports about youngsters using them to fire stones at birds and other wildlife. In one incident, a man was reportedly "shot in the face" after confronting people picking up stones outside his property.
Kent Police said officers are searching anyone suspected of doing so - and seizing any items they find. It has warned that those found using one face being arrested and brought before the courts.
Police have also written to every school in the county to ensure children and their parents are aware of the laws surrounding catapults and the risks of being involved in this type of behaviour.
