WILMINGTON — After 10 days of turning the Deerfield Valley blue, the Blueberry Festival wrapped up with a car show on Sunday.
"We thought that it would be a good culmination for the Blueberry Festival because a lot of people are in town for the weekend," Susan Verille of West Dover said. "It gives them a little something for them to do."
Proceeds went to Senior Solutions for the Meals on Wheels program due to federal funding cuts, Verille said. Organizers were on target to meet their goal of raising $1,000. Robin Gallup of Wilmington, co-organizer, said she hopes they bring in about $1,500.
Attendees and participants were paying the entry fees but also donating straight to Senior Solutions, which had a booth at the event. Information about programming was being shared.
