The Aberdeenshire, Scotland, estate released a statement via Instagram on Monday, announcing the closure of the residence for the day due to impending bad weather in the region.
“Balmoral will be closed to the public today, Monday 4th August, due to Storm Floris. Please do not travel to the estate. We will be issuing refunds for tickets to visit today,” the statement read. “Stay safe everyone.”
According to the Met Office , which is the U.K.’s national weather and climate service, warnings for wind have been issued in the area.
