HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in the 200 block of Burning Tree Court on Monday, police said.

The home is in a senior development near the shuttered Mays Landing Country Club. An official for the development said no one was hurt.

Police received a call about the fire at 12:31 p.m.

Rich Dinardo, 66, who lives a block away from the fire, said he heard two large bangs and initially thought it was work on the golf course.

"But it was too loud for that," Dinardo said.

Mark Scharaga was at his mother's house when he heard an explosion.
