MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) — Train delays, heavy traffic and road closures are expected as emergency response crews investigate the area near Grand Central Terminal, according to officials.
Video on the Citizen App shows a large group of firefighters surrounding the area near E 43rd St. and Vanderbilt Ave. around 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The FDNY said crews responded to a call for an odor of gas in the Long Island Rail Road tunnels.
The activity around Grand Central is expected to disrupt mass transit, cause traffic delays and close roads, according to a Notify NYC alert.
There have been no reported injuries, according to the FDNY.
