INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man was sentenced to 10 years after he hit an IMPD officer with his car at a CVS in downtown Indianapolis in November 2024.
A judge sentenced Terrance Shane to 10 years, with seven years to be served in the Indiana Department of Correction and three years suspended, followed by two years of probation.
The prosecution and defense reached a plea agreement, with Shane pleading guilty to possession of a narcotic drug and battery by means of a deadly weapon. As part of the plea agreement, the charge of battery with bodily injury to a public safety officer was dismissed.
Around 4 p.m. Nov. 14, 2024, officers went to check on a report of an unresponsive person, later identified as Shane, inside a car in the CVS drive-thru in the 1500 block of North Meridian Str
