DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers are back home to face an AL Central Division rival that sold big at last week’s trade deadline.
The Tigers (65-48) and Minnesota Twins (52-59) play at 6:40 p.m. at Comerica Park.
Catcher Jake Rogers; infielder Andy Ibanez; and outfielders Matt Vierling and Jahmai Jones will be available off the bench. The full lineup is below.
Right-hander Casey Mize (9-4, 3.43 ERA) will start for the Tigers.
The Twins will deploy a bullpen game opened by right-hander Travis Adams (1-1, 8.03).
Mize is trying to shake a rough stretch that has now spanned three starts -- one before the All-Star break and two after. He’s allowed 13 runs on 19 hits in 8 2/3 innings over that span .
