A 37-year-old man was in serious condition after the vehicle he was in was “T-boned” at a Maili intersection early this morning, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services officials said.

EMS responded to the scene on Farrington Highway and Kaukama Road at 5:45 a.m. Paramedics treated the man for injuries and took him to a hospital in serious condition, EMS said.

A T-bone crash, also known as a side-impact collision, occurs when the front of one vehicle strikes the side of another, forming a “T” shape.

The area is also where a 62-year-old man in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a car Tuesday night as he was attempting to cross the road outside of a marked crosswalk.
