EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Just like that, high school sports are back in season, officially, starting today.

With students preparing for their return to the classroom, fall sports programs already made their return, with it being the first official day of practice for cross country, football, soccer, boys tennis, and girls volleyball!

There’s a new sport on the list this year as well, with girls flag football entering the mix this year as an emerging sports.

Not only did practices get underway, but the girls golf season began, with multiple area schools getting in on matches already today.
