BETHESDA, Md. — A Bethesda road has reopened after a water main break.

Southbound Wisconsin Avenue, or MD-355, is closed at the exit to East West Highway, also known as MD-410, along with two westbound turn lanes on MD-410. A water main break closed the road around 10 p.m. Monday night, but WSSC Water said in a press statement early Tuesday that the closure may be in effect for an extended period of time.

The water main break was right near the entrance to the Bethesda Metro station. It is not affecting trains. There was also no boil water advisory connected to the break.

Officials recommend avoiding the area on your commute. Here are some alternate routes:
