CHESTER, S.C. (WBTV) - A kitten that was saved from a storm drain in Chester County last week found itself a new home with a local hero.

The small animal was reportedly rescued on Wednesday, July 30, from beneath the county’s storm drains.

What happened

Deputies said Allie, a 911 coordinator with the sheriff’s office, heard cries of a kitten trapped below the drains. Without hesitation, she got a team together and initiated a rescue mission.

As one, the group carefully removed the grate, and James, a national crime information center terminal agency coordinator, climbed down into the drain. From there, he quickly found and rescued the kitten.
