DEBARY, Fla. (WFLA) — A man is in custody after forcing two teenagers to undress at a park on Sunday night, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded to the park at around 7:45 p.m., where they found the two 17-year-olds, a boyfriend and girlfriend.

The victims said the man, identified as 39-year-old Marquevis Chance, approached them, hit the boy in the head with a handgun and then aimed his gun at the girl. He forced both to undress, took their clothes and left.

The boy was taken to the hospital to be treated for the laceration on his head.

VSO said the preliminary investigation pointed to the motive of the attack as a retaliation for an altercation the suspect had with a family member of one of the victims.
