Iowa wrestling won't be losing the services of Gabe Arnold after all.

After the Hawkeyes program announced on July 1 that Arnold would no longer be on the roster , just one month later the Iowa City High alum and 2025 NCAA qualifier is still with the team and will remain so. An athletics department spokesperson said Aug. 5 that Arnold was "never officially off the roster." Arnold also separately confirmed to the Des Moines Register that he would be staying with the program.

Arnold provides increased depth and talent on the roster moving forward. He projects to wrestle at 174 pounds next season, given redshirt freshman Angelo Ferrari's standout debut while retaining a redshirt at 184 last season.
