Dozens of motorists were handed tickets over the August long weekend in Ste. Anne.
According to Ste. Anne Police, more than 50 offence notices were issued. These were mostly speeding tickets, but also included tickets for distracted driving and unregistered vehicles.
"Long weekends tend to bring heavier traffic, and unfortunately, more risk-taking," says Chief Marc Robichaud. "We want drivers to know that we are out there, not just to write tickets, but to prevent tragedies. Virtually every offence notice represents a behaviour that could have ended in a crash."
Robichaud says Ste. Anne Police Service remains committed to road safety enforcement, especially during peak travel times.
