BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — A 51-year-old man was killed, and two others were injured in a wreck Sunday morning near Bluffton.

The crash happened around 10:45 a.m. on Bluffton Parkway, South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) Master Trooper William Bennett said.

Two people were reportedly standing outside of a disabled Jeep Compass in the eastbound lane due to a trailer coming loose from the vehicle when the incident occurred.

A Toyota Rav 4 that was traveling east struck the trailer, the Jeep and the two people, Bennett said.

One of the pedestrians and the driver of the Toyota were taken to a local hospital for treatment, but the other pedestrian died on the scene, officials reported.
