BOISE, Idaho — The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the nation's "most outstanding running back," and one Boise State player is being looked at for taking it all.

Last season, Ashton Jeanty took home the award, becoming the first in Boise State 's history to have that title.

This isn't Boise State's first year on the preseason list with Ashton Jeanty being named before and George Holani earning a spot on the four prior seasons. Now, in the sixth year on the watch list, the PwC SMU Athletic Forum is eyeing another Bronco - Sire Gaines.

In a news release from Bronco Sports , it was announced on Tuesday that Gaines is one of two redshirt freshmen on the watch list.

"Last season, Gaines ran for 156 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries before suffering a season-ending injury
