OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A University of Nebraska regent and lawyer who is charged with driving while intoxicated is no longer employed by the Douglas County Attorney’s Office.

Elizabeth O’Connor, 34, faces one count of DUI causing serious bodily injury , a Class 3A felony punishable by up to three years in prison and/or a $10,000.

O’Connor worked for the Douglas County Attorney’s Office, but in a statement released Tuesday, the office said she is no longer employed there.

“This is a personnel matter and there will be no further comment. We thank her for her prior service to Dougals County,” the statement reads.
