MARION, Ill. (KFVS) - Three people were arrested after a stolen vehicle was spotted in southern Illinois.

According to the Marion Police Department, officers were dispatched to a business in the 1200 block of W. Dufour Street around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5 for a stolen vehicle described as a silver Ford Escape.

Police learned the vehicle had an active GPS monitoring system. With the help of the business owners, they were able to track the vehicle.

According to police, the vehicle was spotted going eastbound on Illinois Route 13 in Carterville.

Carterville police found the vehicle and followed it to the intersection of Route 148 and Route 13.

Police say the vehicle hit the trailer of another driver at the intersection.
