FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) - A North Fond du Lac man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in the 2020 fentanyl overdose death of his sister.
According to a press release from the Fond du Lac County District Attorney, Christopher J. Hoerth was convicted of First-Degree Reckless Homicide and Felony Bail Jumping in April 2020 following a five-day jury trial. On Monday, Judge Tricia Walker sentenced him to six years of initial confinement and six years of extended supervision.
According to prosecutors, Hoerth provided his sister with fentanyl, leading to her fatal overdose. The medical examiner ruled her death was caused by fentanyl toxicity, with 30 nanograms per milliliter found in her system.
