HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. (PIX11) -- Lauren Semanchik was living out her childhood dream of being a veterinarian before her life was tragically cut short Friday.
The 33-year-old and her boyfriend, 29-year-old Tyler Webb, were found shot to death inside Semanchik’s Franklin Township home on Saturday.
Prosecutors believe Semanchik’s ex-boyfriend, New Jersey State Police Lieutenant Ricardo Jorge Santos, killed the pair before turning the gun on himself. Police later found Santos dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, alone in his car in Piscataway’s Johnson Park.
There is a growing memorial to Semanchik outside Long Valley Animal Hospital, where she worked.
“She would come into the room and she would sit on the floor, accept a lot of face kisses from the dogs,” said pet owner Laura Benite
