A 17-year-old Los Fresnos resident died Tuesday in a crash on State Highway 100.
In a news release, the Texas Department of Public Safety said the one-vehicle crash happened at approximately 12:36 p.m. on State Highway 100 east of San Roman Road and west of Old Port Isabel Road.
“A preliminary investigation revealed a black Ford Ranger (occupied by a female driver and one male passenger) was traveling eastbound on SH 100 at an unsafe speed and hydroplaned before rolling over,” the release stated.
The driver was transported to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville with injuries that are not life threatening.
The passenger, Angel Flores, died at the scene.
DPS continues to investigate the crash.
