CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Two of the men accused of killing a nursing student and mother of two in March of 2019 accepted plea deals on Tuesday, according to court records.

Two of the men accused of killing 27-year-old Kendal Crank in March of 2019 on Tuesday, Aug. 5, agreed to plead guilty in return for lesser charges.

According to court records, Tychius Dobie and Marquis Smith had their charges of first-degree murder reduced to involuntary manslaughter after they both pled guilty for their involvement in killing Smith.

The third person accused of killing Crank in 2019, Adonis Smith, was on trial in March 2025 for his involvement.
