ALEXANDRIA — A story in last year's Resorters Newspaper about the Men's Executive Division began with this: "Bryant Black of Alexandria is riding high in the Resorters Golf Tournament."

This year? Ditto.

Black matched his 67 qualifying round from last year to earn medalist honors, two strokes better than the 69s notched by Patrick Beste and John Kirk.

His 4-under-par round on Sunday at the Alexandria Golf Club began with nothing but pars for the first five holes. He made his only miscue of the day on No. 6 when he settled for bogey. He quickly erased that with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 7 and 8 and made par on No. 9 for a 35 on the front nine.
