NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) - North Augusta Public Safety and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office joined together to host a National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

The event gave families an opportunity to interact with law enforcement in a fun way as part of community policing.

"In North Augusta Public Safety, each of our officers is a human being just like the members of the community," said Junior Johnson, Director of Public Safety. "We go to church, we shop in this community, we live our lives in this community. We want it to be the best community that it can be. And in order for it be the best community we must build bridges between the people in the community and our law enforcement agencies."
