WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Police Department held its annual National Night Out at Rocky Point Park on Tuesday.
According to Warwick police, National Night Out, which is in its 42nd year, is an annual event that promotes “strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie,” with the goal of making neighborhoods safer.
Tuesday’s event featured a touch-a-truck display, food trucks, entertainment, and a K9 demonstration by the department’s K9 unit.
“I think the benefit is to get to know your fellow police officers, your first responders, all the different businesses,” Warwick Police Officer Ryan Shibley said.
The night concluded with a fireworks display.
