Michigan's statewide air quality advisory has ended, with only the Upper Peninsula and a few counties in northern Michigan seeing advisories on Aug. 6. because of lingering Canadian wildfire smoke .
" 24-hour average fine particulate concentrations are expected to be mostly Moderate (AQI Yellow) in the Southern Lower Peninsula, but potentially Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) (AQI Orange) in the Norther Lower Peninsula and Upper Peninsula," said Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's MiAir Divison.
As of 9 a.m. Aug. 6, the entire UP is under an air quality advisory, along with 21 counties in the Lower Peninsula: Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Iosco, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, Montmorency
