It's going to get steamy once again this weekend across Michigan, the National Weather Service says, and don't rule out a few thunderstorms.

" A hot and humid August weekend is ahead with peak heat indices in the mid-90s. The first half of the weekend will be dry before chances for scattered rain/storms return Sunday (Aug. 10) and Monday (Aug. 11)," the National Weather Service for northern Indiana said on X. "Stay hydrated and don't forget sunscreen if you're planning to spend time outdoors."

Along with the heat, rain and thunderstorms are expected to develop, mainly on Sunday, Aug. 11, in from Grand Rapids, across the southern tier of counties, and in northern Michigan and in the Upper Peninsula.
