SPIRIT LAKE — Avista will use a helicopter to transport and install six power poles in Spirit Lake during a planned outage Wednesday, Aug. 13.

As part of the repairs, Avista has scheduled an electric outage affecting 52 customers on the south side of Spirit Lake from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Impacted customers will be notified in advance of the outage, a press release said.

The helicopter will be in use between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Avista will be using 6288 W. Maryland St. as the staging area.

To ensure public safety and the safety of workers, West Maryland Street will be closed, and traffic control will be in place.

Power poles will be transported by helicopter from the staging area to the south side of Spirit Lake and will not be flown over any structures.
