TOWN OF RUSSIA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- A Cold Brook man was arrested over the weekend after he was accused of shooting a pair of dogs in his yard.

New York State Police were called to a residence on Norway Street in the town of Russia at approximately 7:30 pm on Sunday, August 3. A preliminary investigation by Troopers found that two dogs were injured when they entered the property of the suspect -- 43-year-old Mark Boyce of Cold Brook.

Boyce stated to Troopers that the dogs were allegedly threatening his goats.

According to witnesses, Boyce also allegedly pointed a rifle at several people who were attempting to assist the injured dogs. No injuries to any humans were reported.

One dog was found deceased at the scene, while the other died after being transported to an emergency veterina
