It's going to be hot for San Diegans this week as a warming trend is expected to continue through Thursday.

Thursday is expected to be the hottest day with temperatures ranging from around 80 near the coast to the upper 90s to 106 for the Inland Empire, with 114 to 118 for the deserts, the National Weather Service said.

Advisories in effect:

A heat advisory is in effect for the inland valleys and mountains now through Friday at 8 p.m.

An extreme heat warning is in effect for deserts through Friday at 8 p.m.

High temperatures on Thursday could be near or exceed records for Palm Springs, Indio, Thermal and Borrego Springs, the NWS said.
