INDIANAPOLIS — MADVoters, along with a coalition of other organizations, is planning a sit-in this Thursday at the Indiana Statehouse to protest what they describe as a gerrymandering scheme. The protest is being organized in response to a meeting between Vice President J.D. Vance and Indiana Gov. Mike Braun.
According to a public invitation from the group, the protest is aimed at “saying no to redistricting, gerrymandering, and the special legislative session that would be required to enact these changes.” Organizers claim the alleged scheme is an attempt to redraw legislative districts in favor of one political party, years ahead of the next scheduled redistricting cycle.
This protest comes a week after a group of demonstrators protested Erin Houchin outside of the Lincoln Day Dinner
