MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — The man dating a D.C. police officer when she was killed 30 years ago has been arrested for her murder, Montgomery County Police announced Wednesday.

Amir Jalil Ali, 62, formerly known as Kenneth Burnell Wonsom, was arrested on Tuesday in Laurel for the Sept. 16, 1995, murder of his then-girlfriend, 24-year-old Denna Fredericka Campbell. He is charged with first degree murder.

Campbell was a four-year veteran of the Metropolitan Police Department when she was killed.
