SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- A 24-year-old has been taken into custody after two guns were reported stolen from two separate Salina hotels.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office learned of the two reported stolen guns around 7 a.m. on Aug. 5. Each of which was stolen from cars at two different hotels.

At the scene, deputies found that both vehicles belonged to out-of-town visitors, both of whom had a handgun in their car.

"Other personal property was also reported missing," said the sheriff's office.

An investigation by the sheriff's criminal investigations division began, and by 2 p.m. that same day, detectives had identified a suspect.
