WAUPACA, Wis. (WFRV) - Jurors are now deliberating the fate of Tony Haase, a man accused of killing two people in a brutal 1992 double homicide that shocked the town of Royalton more than 30 years ago.

Haase is charged with two counts of intentional homicide in the stabbing deaths of Tanna Togstad and Timothy Mumbrue. Their bodies were found in Togstad’s home in March 1992, with Togstad reportedly suffering a single stab wound to the chest and Mumbrue found with multiple injuries. A dog at the scene was also killed.

Investigators said there was no evidence of robbery or forced entry, and the murder weapon was never found.

The case remained unsolved for decades, until a DNA sample collected from Haase during a 2022 traffic stop reportedly matched DNA found at the original crime scene. Th
