NELSON COUNTY, Ky. —

The first of three men to be convicted in Crystal Rogers' death was sentenced to 17 years in prison on Wednesday.

Steve Lawson was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence on May 30.

A jury has recommended 17 years on one charge and five on another to be served concurrently, and the judge confirmed that sentence.

Rogers' family, wearing pink as usual, filled the courtroom for the sentencing.
