SEDALIA, Mo - A Sedalia man is behind bars in Pettis County following a vehicle theft and pursuit last night.

According to a press release from the City of Sedalia, officers with the Sedalia Police Department and the Pettis County Sheriff's Office began a search for a stolen vehicle just after 6 pm. Deputies responded to the area of Green Road where they located the vehicle being driven by 40-year-old Joshua Gresham, who fled the scene upon the deputies arrival.

Gresham led authorities on a chase that required Sedalia Police to use spike strips. Gresham drove offroad to avoid the spikes and later abandoned the vehicle in the area of Walker Circle. Authorities were able to locate Gresham in a nearby apartment and took him into custody.

He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on pending
