Countless girls have gotten their ears pierced for the first time at Claire's, but now the struggling teen retailer is in bankruptcy court for its second time.

The Hoffman Estates-based teen retailer, which is a staple in most shopping malls, filed for bankruptcy Wednesday, after first filing in 2018.

Claire's has stores in Southlake Mall in Hobart, the Valparaiso Marketplace in Valparaiso, the Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets in Michigan City, River Oaks Center in Calumet City and Orland Square Mall in Orland Park. It also has a store inside the Walmart just off the Borman Expressway in Hammond.
