Drivers on Interstate 670 westbound near Stelzer Road at the end of July might have seen something slightly slower than drag racers — two people riding motorized wheelchairs along the side of the highway.

As seen on Ohio Department of Transportation video obtained by The Dispatch, two people in motorized wheelchairs could be seen riding in the opposite direction of traffic in the shoulder lane on I-670 westbound near Stelzer Road on the afternoon July 30.

A Franklin County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said deputies responded to the incident, "priority was to make sure the two individuals got off the freeway to safety."
