HAMMOND — A man from Lafayette was sentenced Tuesday to nearly six years in prison for distributing fentanyl.

Christopher Burdine-Davies, 24, was sentenced by United States District Court Senior Judge James Moody to 70 months in federal prison after pleading guilty in April 2024 to distribution of a controlled substance.

Burdine-Davies was involved in selling fentanyl on six occasions between Sept. 26 and Oct. 20, 2022, and also sold three privately made firearms to law enforcement, according to court documents. His criminal history includes previous felony convictions for possessing a controlled substance, criminal recklessness and intimidation, which prohibited him from owning firearms or ammunition.
