A man who led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit that crossed state lines has been sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with five years to serve and five years of post-release supervision.
Rashood Jefferson was convicted of felony fleeing following an incident in Olive Branch, where he attempted to evade officers. The chase ended after Jefferson crossed into Tennessee, where he was apprehended thanks to swift coordination between the Olive Branch Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.
“You can run, but you cannot hide from law enforcement in DeSoto County,” said District Attorney Matthew Barton. “We appreciate the work of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department in helping us bring Jefferson back to face justice in DeSoto County.”
