A new, urban in-fill community is coming to Cayce.

If you're wondering what an urban in-fill community is, it's about making the most of the space already in a city. Instead of spreading out and taking up more countryside, developers look at empty lots and old abandoned buildings and determine what could be done with them. St. Anne's Alley was developed in 2020 in West Columbia, and is an urban in-fill community.

Hattie’s Crossing is being built on the site of the former Cayce Grammar School. It's a project by Columbia developers Mark James and Tyler Baldwin Jr. of Cypress Development Partners, and marketing is being handled by The Wheeler Group and backed by Coldwell Banker Realty.

The new community will be located on Lexington Avenue, and Eighth, Poplar and Third street in West Columb
