PORTLAND, Ore. - Gov. Tina Kotek has signed four bipartisan bills aimed at enhancing mental health and addiction care across Oregon. The legislation, including House Bills 2005, 2059, 2024, and 3321, is designed to provide comprehensive support for behavioral health.

Gov. Kotek highlighted the importance of these bills, stating they offer crucial tools for providers to intervene in crises and support those in the field.

"These bills help fulfill that objective by giving providers more tools to intervene when someone is in crisis," Kotek said.

House Bill 2005 aims to improve legal interventions for individuals with severe mental illness by updating civil commitment practices. House Bill 2059 complements this by investing $65 million to expand treatment capacity.
