BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An 18-year-old transgender woman accused of hijacking subway trains and assaulting an MTA worker has been arrested more than 20 times, according to court documents.

Justine Randall appeared before a Brooklyn judge, trembling, on Wednesday after skipping out on a previous court appearance. A judge had issued a bench warrant after the defendant failed to appear as scheduled on Tuesday.

“Due to her youth and mental health issues, she made a poor decision yesterday,” her defense attorney said. PIX11 News was in the courtroom for Randall’s indictment.

“She gets very nervous before coming into the courtroom. Obviously, Miss Randall is suffering from some issues that led to her not showing up.”
